Copper Lunula pendant - Small - Recreated Historical Artifact - Replica (573)

What is a Lunula? It means "small moon"! Lunula pendants were worn as amulets and good luck charms throughout much of ancient Europe from the Bronze Age through the Viking Age. They went out of style during the Early Medieval period when most people converted to Christianity and began wearing crosses. These pendants were extremely popular in Ancient Rome with many depictions of young girls and women wearing them. They are closely associated with femininity and fertility in the Ancient world and were meant to bring good luck, happiness, and protection to the wearer.

This lunula pendant is made from copper with small copper balls to mimic the 10-11th century piece in our collection that we use for educational demos. It has a beautiful antiqued patina and polished highlights.

Whether you're looking for the perfect piece for your eleven or faerie costume, Renaissance garb, or a gorgeous statement piece for your fairytale wedding, this should be your choice!

Want to add a protective coating to you piece to maintain the beautiful metal just the way it is? See our "Upgrades & Add-ons" section and add a protective sealant to your purchase.

All pendants come with an adjustable cloth necklace. They also pair perfectly with our Viking knit necklaces and are easily interchangeable for multiple looks with the same chain! You can order a Viking Knit chain here:
